Coming Out
‘Coming out’ is when you tell others (friends, family, doctor’s, teachers, co-workers, etc.) about your gender or sexuality. You don’t have to come out as soon as you figure these things out. If it’s safer for you not to come out, then please put your safety first. Here are some resources on coming out. If you feel unsafe, or if you have come out and now need urgent support, please contact one of the listed organisations on our ‘Help’ page.

Transitioning
Transition means to begin living as your correct gender identity. This may (but doesn’t have to) include: changing your name, changing your pronouns, changing your appearance, updating your professional documents (like your passport or driver’s licence), or pursuing medical treatment (like hormones or gender confirmation surgery).
